The Tapestry of Life

Have you read the headlines lately? Everywhere you look there is a Crisis, and everyone has a different take on how is should be handled. Concerning the Financial Crisis, the greedy will try to increase their reserves anyway they can, and the godly will try to invest in the Kingdom of God. We already know the future holds a one world economy for what looks like this very generation unless Jesus tarries longer. Since there is nothing new under the sun, we know the enemy has no new tricks. He will continue to attempt to deceive us with some of the old tricks in his bag.

Remember how the enemy tricked Eve and had her question what God said. It's still happening now... "You believe the Bible? It's just a collection of fables"

God says....
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: II Timothy 3:16

Today the enemy continues..."Your husband isn't really able to take care of you, get out and make something of yourself"

For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. II Timothy 3:6-7

When walking through a crisis I choose to trust God rather than the enemy. The Family unit is in crisis and under attack, and our enemy wanders through this land like a roaring lion, just waiting for someone to devor. But rather than turning to the "wisdom" talk show hosts and radio "christian pyshcologisits, we must turn to the word of God and live it out not only for our own sakes but for the sake of our children and our grand children; it is important for those watching us as well, as our lives my be the only Bible they "read". Many of us have heard these things before, but as we walk in these last days we must live them out more than ever.
We must continue to battle in the spiritual realm for souls of our families, that we would continue to live a life that is devoted to a person, not a "cause"...and that Person is Jesus Christ!

As I live devoted to my Jesus, it may not look the same as another's devoted walk, but that's ok, we are not "cookie cutter Christians", God made us all individuals. But not to worry, if we allow God to do the leading, each and every life lead by God will inter twine like a beautiful tapestry.

We may see the back side as we wander through the crisis in this life, not seeing the finished product, but one day we will see the other side, complete and perfect.

So until Jesus returns can we trust God to "pull" us through this Tapestry of life as He sees fit, not where we "want" to go, or where our emotions want to take us?

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
Ecclesiastes 3:1

The King is coming!

We all have 24 hours in our day to spend usually as we see fit as we live in a free country so far. But what is it that will define the years and months and days, down to the minutes and seconds when they are all tallied?

As followers of Jesus we all have different callings and that takes us on paths that will differ from others. However when the trumpet sounds, and we are called up younder, what is it that we will be found doing? What is it that will take up the biggest slice of the pie of your life?

This is not a discussion of works verses faith as we should know that we can show our faith by our works, so what are our hearts set upon as we walk through these numbered days on earth? And of course these things in and of themselves are not a sin, but just what do we as God's children find ourselves doing?

Will it be sleep?

Will it be prayer?

Will it be watching tv?

Will it be whining?

Will it be watching sports?

Perhaps participating in sports?

Perhaps sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ?

Fill in your own blank........_____________

Where our treasure is there will our hearts be also Matthew 6:21

When Jesus returns, what will you be found doing?

Jesus is coming soon to an Earth near you!

What are Your thoughts?

Did you watch the Inaguaral Ceremonies? Did you happen to recognize the rendition played by the Quartet? When the Coronet player comes in the melody is much clearer, and am I wrong or is it the song that goes something like...

All hail the Savior Christ and King....Hallelujah?

Watch again and let me know your thoughts.

The Blood Song

Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice:
have mercy also upon me, and answer me.
Psalm 27:7
I just love the way the little ones can sing with all their heart and not worry if anyone is watching, perhaps persecution will bring it about in the hearts of adults.
This little one sang for her Nanny's Birthday, what a blessing!

Thanks to Zola for sharing this link with me!

Diane, a friend of mine shared a picture of some of the aprons she made for her daughters and grand daughters for this past Christmas.

These were only some of the aprons she made, I believe she said she made about 27. Along with the beautiful lined aprons, some of the little ones recieved a cook book and a wooden spoon to encourage them to use their aprons and develop their domestic talents. What a wonderful legacy to pass down to her children and grand children! Blessings in Jesus to you Diane!

The "Proposed" Stimulus Package

Ladies,

I know as many of you do, that Almighty God is in control of our futures. God has also given us many resonsibilites to help and love our neighbors and if we keep silent we will have our selves to blame. The hand that rocks the cradle rules the world, and as such we must be aware of the current issues facing our families and society at large. "The pen is mightier than the sword", and I would have to remind all of what God has said as well...

The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water:
he turneth it whithersoever he will. Proverbs 21:1

The following is an email I received in reply to my concerns over the "proposed" stimulus package. As we are in prayer and communion with our God, He will lead light our path.

The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much!

Mrs. Monika Hardy

Dear Monika: Thank you for contacting me regarding President-elect Barack Obama's proposed economic stimulus package. I share your concerns and welcome the opportunity to respond. As you may know, the President-elect recently proposed stimulus legislation that would combine direct aid to states and localities with tax relief for consumers and businesses, among other things. This legislation is projected to cost a minimum of $750 billion over two years.

Mr. Obama has not issued an official, final proposal and his transition team is currently working with congressional leaders and committees in hopes of producing a final package that can pass Congress in the near future. I have several concerns with the plan in its current form. For example, the package is threatening to become an avalanche of special funding, much of which is unrelated to stimulating our economy as a whole. For example, recent testimony at a Senate Budget Committee hearing stated that the most recent stimulus package - which provided personal checks to taxpayers - did not stimulate the levels of consumer spending that had been anticipated. In other words, government rebates do not stimulate large increases in consumer spending. Additionally, news about the much-heralded package of tax breaks looks to be somewhat overblown: indications are that much of the package will include refundable tax credits to those who pay no taxes in the first place, which basically amounts to an increase in spending, not tax cuts. These proposals have led to valid concerns being raised by both Democrat and Republican Senators. On January 7, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) released its budget outlook for Fiscal Years 2009-2019. With a sobering prediction that this year's deficit will total $1.2 trillion (without factoring the cost of any new stimulus bill), the report cites what many already know or suspect: the slowdown in economic activity and policy responses to challenges in the housing and financial markets have significantly affected the federal budget.

Solutions to this staggering problem are not simple or short-term. According to the CBO, declines in federal receipts from individual and corporate income taxes will continue, largely due to major losses in asset values. And, any stimulus package will only add to the already skyrocketing deficit. The new deficit numbers indicate that we are faced with the proposition of borrowing an additional $1 trillion to spend now on a stimulus bill. "We cannot spend our way to prosperity, and so it is time to stop digging by continuing to borrow money from future generations, and shifting it around from one person or group to another. Doing so does not lead to long-term investment, growth and economic stabilization."

As a member of both the Senate Finance and Senate Budget Committees, I will be reviewing the upcoming economic stimulus package in coming weeks and the federal budget when it is released later this winter. It is imperative that we focus on creating jobs, cutting spending, and lowering the burdens on individuals, families and businesses in order to stimulate real, sustained, long-term growth, as opposed to short-term, ineffective measures that will simply add to the deficit without providing real relief to Idaho's taxpayers and families. Again, thank you for contacting me. Please feel free to contact me in the future on this or other matters of interest to you. For more information about the issues before the U.S. Senate as well as news releases, photos, and other items of interest, please visit my Senate website, http://crapo.senate.gov/.

Sincerely, Mike CrapoUnited States Senator

As we pray God bends low to hear us. Pray on!

From the Word Wednesday...

It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late,
to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.
Psalm 127:2
The economy is in extreme trouble
Wars and rumors of wars are all around us
Earthquakes
Famine
Disease
401 k's are at risk
taxes increase
bird flu epidemic hovers
Family trouble
Depression on the rise and those on drugs to manage it depressed more than ever
Financial woes
Americas work force is tired and addicted to caffine or worse
Up early to beat the rat race
up late to watch the Late Night Show
(add your own personal fear or worry here)
Vanity, vanity all is vanity!
You can rise early all you want to try to beat the rat race, and stay up late to get in on the latest worldy gossip or try to veg before you lie in bed tossing and turning trying to sleep after a long day at the office. Counting sheep doesn't work, it only annoys you as they baaaaa.
You are tired, annoyed, exhasuted and grumpy to say the least.
Plumeting investments bring fear to your thoughts of retiring early in the Bahamas.
Worry to your hearts content, but it won't change one bit, it won't change your heigth either:)
Or,
you could just read your Bible when you get up,
read it when you go to bed (that is a sure fire way to fall asleep)
Just trust in God, He is in control anyway whether you believe it or not.
Just stop drop and roll into the arms of Jesus and experience the peace that passes all understanding!
Sleep like rain falls from God in heaven. It is by His decree that His children sleep.
The head hits the pillow after walking in the ways of our God, and we are asking for mercy and strength to continue another day should the Lord tarry his return.
Beloved...those that belong to God through Jesus..
Beloved, your rest is in Jesus.
For so He giveth His beloved sleep...
and in the original language that means...sleep.
Now I lay me down to sleep
I pray the Lord my soul to keep
The Angels watch me through the night
and keep me in His blessed sight
Amen
and
Good Night
May you sleep well in Jesus.

Love Conquers All!

And now abideth faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
