Wisdom in the Word Wednesday

Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name;

worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.

Psalm 29:2

I wonder do we really stand in awe of Almighty God,
or just wander through our days without a clue
that He is nearby just waiting to love us,
to speak wisdom into our hearts and hold us tight.
It is so easy to wander from the closeness we once knew.
Responsibilities can get in the way.
Life can get in between our hearts and the Lord Jesus.
There is no need for distance, for in a moment our hearts and minds can turn back to that tender place of worship.
It is in the mind where the battle is lost or won.
No matter what tasks fill our day,
keeping our hearts and minds focused on
the object of our affection and adortion
fills us with wonder at who Jesus is
and what He has done for us,
and what He has created.
Yes, in the beggining God created.
We do not worship the creation,
but rather worship the Creator.
We ascribe to the Lord the honor that is due Him,
with a heart and mind of holiness.
My mind may begin worshipping God while
it is on the duties of the morning, but soon thereafter
it is accomplishing the duties while gloriuously
praising God for He is worthy to be praised!

Websters Dictionary
Holiness
HO'LINESS, n. [from holy.]
The state of being holy; purity or integrity of moral character; freedom from sin; sanctity. Applied to the Supreme Being, holiness denotes perfect purity or integrity of moral character, one of his essential attributes.
Who is like thee, glorious in holiness?
1. Applied to human beings, holiness is purity of heart or dispositions; sanctified affections; piety; moral goodness, but not perfect.
We see piety and holiness ridiculed as morose singularities.
2. Sacredness; the state of any thing hallowed, or consecrated to God or to his worship; applied to churches or temples.
3. That which is separated to the service of God.

Holiness in our lives may be ridculed in this day and age,
but to God holiness in our lives was and is and always will be beautiful to Him.
I prefer to be pleasing to God rather than to the thoughts of men.

Praise Him, praise Him
all ye little children
God is love
God is love.
Praise Him, praise Him
all ye little children
God is love,
God is love!
