Whate'er befall me

I was waiting for some people the other day, and while waiting I spotted a hymnal, so I took advantage of the few minutes I had and began reading the words of some wonderful powerful songs that were written for our encouragement and God's glory. Many songs today do not express the deep meanings of yesteryear. It didn't take long before I was singing out loud and longing for heaven once again, all the way led by my Savior, my sweet Beloved Jesus!

All the way my Savior leads me;

What have I to ask beside?

Can I doubt His tender mercy,

Who through life has been my Guide?

Heav'nly peace, divinest comfort,

Here by faith in Him to dwell!

For I know, whate'er befall me,

Jesus doeth all things well,

For I know, whate'er befall me,

Jesus doeth all things well.

All the way my Savior leads me,

Cheers each winding path I tread,

Gives me grace for every trial,

Feeds me with the living bread.

Though my weary steps may falter,

And my soul athirst may be,

Gushing from the Rock before me,

Lo! a spring of joy I see,

Gushing from the Rock before me,

Lo! a spring of joy I see.

All the way my Savior leads me;

Oh, the fullness of His grace!

Perfect rest to me is promised

In my Father's blest embrace.

When my spirit, clothed immortal,

Wings its flight to realms of day,

This my song through endless ages:

Jesus led me all the way,

This my song through endless ages:

Jesus led me all the way.

AMEN! I agree the songs of today..most..do not express the deep meaning of yesteryear.

Though one young lady I know..does write as if they are old hymns and some of the words...ones I could have penned in my trial with my son's loss...25 years ago.

Most of the hymns of yesteryear...were written by those who found grace in a deep trial. That makes the words full of grace, hope and truth.

How timely...as I just penned old hymns on my blog and wrote one of my own in expression of praise for a trial of victory and a saved soul.

God bless..

That's truly beautiful, thank you for sharing. What a great reminder that Jesus is our Guide, not the world.

Many sweet blessings!
